Caruso & Minini Sachia Perricone 2012, Igp Sicilia
Other Red
Sicily, Italy
$13.95 (211854)
Made from Sicily’s Perricone grape (aka Pignatello), a rather rare bird in this neck of the woods. This one is brimming with aromas and flavours of cherry pie filling, pomegranate, elderberry and red licorice. A bright nerve of acidity gives good lift, while the slightly chewy tannins make for a robust backdrop. Cellar 3-4 years, or savour tonight with lamb stew.
