Trefethen Estate Chardonnay 2016, Oak Knoll District, Napa Valley
Chardonnay
California, Usa
$57.00 (95760)
Built in 1886 by Hamden McIntyre, who also designed Far Niente and Inglenook, this winery (then known as Eshcol) closed in the wake of prohibition. The Trefethen family purchased, and began restoring, the property in 1968. Their 2009 Estate Chardonnay, grown in the relatively cool Oak Knoll district, delivers lively tropical fruit notes accented by carefully integrated oak and a vibrant acidity. Relish over the next 3-5 years with oven-roasted chicken or pheasant.Critic Reviews (1)
