Ink, peony, and mineral on the nose. Very dry and surprisingly light with flavours of smoke, minerals and fruit and very fine tannins. Really delicious, complex and fine.

Dark violet red. Violets, eucalyptus, and spices on the nose. Liquorice, spice, and concentrated dark berries on a somewhat warm palate. Ample bodied with nice fleshy tannins, but still quite smooth for all the rich bold flavour. I just love this wine. Drink with a grilled steak or lamb.

Juan Gil White Label De Cepas Viejas Monastrell 2014

Nice violet colour. Plum, prune, cinnamon and cayenne on the palate. Nice long spicy finish.

Parusso Langhe Nebbiolo 2014

This wine is like nothing I've ever tasted before. Nice garnet red colour. Cherry and peach on the nose. Sour cherry, peach, apricot, eau de vie/schnapps, faint leather, herb, and mineral on the palate. Supple tannins. Medium length with nice retro-olfaction of peach and schnapps on the finish.

Bodegas Barahonda Barahonda Barrica 2012, Yecla

Dark purple-red colour. Floral and lavender on the nose. Raisin, balsamic, oak and spice. Medium bodied with rather fine tannins.

Very pale garnet color. Spice, cherry, almond, and leather flavors. Medium bodied and very smooth with fine tannins.
