I don't understand the high ratings this wine has been getting. As the name suggests, this wine is completely over the top, to the point where it lacks all purity of fruit and comes across fake.

Good wine showing lots of red fruit and mineral characteristcs. Very food friendly.

Viña Zaco Tempranillo 2006, Doca Rioja

Exceptional value for a wine that shows red cherry fruit with a light rustic earthieness. Very ripe mid palate and a long smooth finish. Very nice.

Zenato Valpolicella Ripassa 2006, Veneto

Perez Cruz Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2007, Maipo Valley

A solid wine, offering great value. Red current, vanillia, and chocolate comes through quite strongly, with descent complexity and a nice mid palate.

Malivoire Pinot Noir 2006, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula

Strong aromas of strawberry with a hint of forest floor and pine needles. Unfortunately, too much residual sugar shows on the palate for my taste. Descent wine, but doesn't offer me much in terms of value at this price point.
