Montecillo Crianza 2007, Rioja

I love tempranillo-based wines. I drank this one two days ago.

The price was certainly right, $9.99 in Florida.

While very soft, I felt this one lacked a little bite. It lacked acidity.

While "goodish", it did not reach good.

A bit of a deception, as I usually like Montecillo wines.

Gabbiano Chianti Classico 2007

Very nice surprise. It should not have been because I often buy this Chianti Classico when in Florida.

Very good typical Chianti Classico, with the sour cherry bite that I usually appreciate in sangiovese-based wines.

I'm repeating myself, but its best quality is its typicity.

If you like Chianti, you'll love this wine.

Price at Publix, in Florida: $14.49.

Great value.
