Cono Sur Viognier 2008, Colchagua Valley
Chile$9.95
I've had this wine on three or four serperate occasions and every time I really enjoyed it. It's well balanced with a little sweetness, a little spice and just enough acidity to match with any spicy asian or fried foods. Tough to beat for $10.
Fontanafredda Barbera Briccotondo 2007, Doc
Piedmont, Italy$15.95
Definitely more tannic than I remember the 2006 being last year. Strong flavours and a little acidic. I would give it another year or two to mellow out and then it'll be great.
Porcupine Ridge Syrah 2007, Wo Coastal Region (Boekenhoutskloof)
South Africa$13.95
Full-bodied and spicy - great deal for $15
Irony Cabernet Sauvignon 2004, Napa
California, Usa$21.95
According to Wine Current, this is a hold wine, but I tasted it recently and I'd say it's good to go now.
Montecillo Crianza 2004, Rioja
Spain$12.45
Drank this wine with roast lamb over Easter 2009. Slightly tannic with a little oak toastiness. Good value for $15 and will not hesitate to recommend to a friend.
