Wither Hills Wairau Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2012
Marlborough, New Zealand$19.95
It is typical and good New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc
May be a little too typical. Great aromas and acidity. The gooseberries overwhelm at first, but then the grapefruit, learn and herbs come out. I personally like this wine a little warmer as it opens up more. Personally I like the clean and simple label with wine leaf cut out in a shape of weather hills, a fantastic place in Marlborough. Living in NZ for a long type I have tasted some fantastic Sauvignons, that is why I haven't given this one a full mark.
Toasted Head Chardonnay 2011, California
California, Usa$18.95
Very rich chardonnay. Full body, beautiful colour. The way chardonnay should be. It is an easy version for any consumer to understand the chardonnay and I always recommend it for people who don't know this type of wine. It has a nice amount of oak, richness, good flavours or butterscotch, vanilla, fruity notes (lemon, apple, even some tropical) . And good long finish. Terrific wine for the price.
