Southbrook Whimsy! 201 Cabernet Franc 2010, Four Mile Creek, Niagara

Eyes: A wine of deep red colour and purple highlights.

Nose: The nose presents black cassis, sweet spice and tobacco.

Mouth: The palate shows broad, fine tannins, mocha, and dark chocolate with layers of dark berry fruit and earthy tones. The finish is both dense and persistent.

Winemaking notes: This Whimsy is a 3.5 barrel blend of Cabernet Franc with 13% Merlot. The wine is a Whimsy of Favourites, if you will. The winemaker's favourite variety, Cabernet Franc, made from grapes sourced from his favourite south block of the estate and aged in his favourite Bordeaux Cooperage, Radoux.
