Loveblock Pinot Gris 2018

Cucha Cucha Cinsault 2017, Itata Valley

My first Cinsault in recent memory. Purple in the glass with a very interesting nose. Dominated by notes of stewed blueberry, pencil shavings, pepper, and cigar box. Underlying hints of strawberry with a smokey, medicinal, and resinous quality. Medium plus body with very fine tannins. Length is very good.

Poggio Di Guardia Serprimo 2017

A beautiful Tuscan blend. Red cherry, pomegranate, and leather dominate the nose. Additional elements of Tuscan dust, plum, blackberry, tobacco leaf, and a subtle floral note add to the complexity. Tannins are very fine, but carry an edge. Acidity is balanced with excellent length.

Papet Del Mas Brut

A very enjoyable Cava. Notes of green apple, lemon zest, melon, apricot, peach, caramelized pineapple, and a toasty character. Effervescent with good body and high acidity.

Domäne Wachau Weissenkirchen Grüner Veltliner Federspiel 2018

A light and fragrant wine. Notes of lime zest, citrus, green apple, white pepper, with a hint of honey and asparagus. Medium minus body with high acidity.

Mascota Vineyards Gran Mascota Malbec 2015, Mendoza

Dark and herbal. Notes of plum, blackberry, black cherry, pepper, oak spice, vanilla, tobacco, and hints of anise. Full bodied with very fine medium tannins and balanced medium acidity. Excellent length.

La Vinyeta Heus Blanc 2018, Emporda

A fragrant and pretty wine. Elements of honeysuckle, lime zest, lemon, Bosc pear, white peach, and green apple. Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.

Siete Tinto Joven 2018

Purple in colour, this wine has a nose that aligns. Notes of black cherry, blackberry, pepper, tobacco, vanilla, graphite, and pine resin. There is also a distinct herbal element that eludes classification. Medium body with medium plus acidity. Tannins are fine and soft.

Piemaggio Il Maggio Chianti Classico 2014

A beautifully ruby colour with garnet rim. The nose is fragrant with dried red cherry and red currant, with notes of mint, leather, tobacco, vanilla. And Tuscan dust. Medium and dusty tannings. Acidity is balanced and length is good.

Chateau Les Bugadelles Réserve 2017, La Clape

Very herbal and earthy. Notes of anise, blackberry, smoke, menthol, wet leaves, dark volcanic minerality, and black pepper which permeates the nose and carries forward to the palate. The wine is dry. Medium body with very fine, medium minus, tannins and medium acidity. Great length.
