Tawse Quarry Road Chardonnay 2010, VQA Vinemount Ridge, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$34.95
Lemony straw colour with hints of green. A hint of smoky oak on the nose with some lovely appley, nutty, and minerally aromas to accompany. Lively acidity on the palate. Drink now through 2018.

Terra Valentine Spring Mountain District Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Napa Valley
California, Usa$56.95
A bit of a muted nose, with flavours of cassis, black licorice, mint chocolate, tar, and vegetal notes. High alcohol at 14.9%, but well-integrated.

Chehalem 3 Vineyard Pinot Noir 2009, Willamette Valley
Oregon, Usa$23.75
There is too much alcohol for the structure of this wine. Aromas of stewed fruit, beetroot, herbs, rhubarb, sour cherry, and loads of alcohol.
Drink now... or not.

Seghesio Zinfandel 2011, Sonoma County
California, Usa$29.95
Bright black fruit aromas with heavy notes of cassis, blackberry, leather, tar, and just a hint of cinnamon.
Fabulous at a summer bbq with ribs, sausage, tomato-based dishes, and medium to hard seasoned cheeses.
Tart cherry, bright fruit, and good acidity on the palate with a spicy mid-palate.
Drink now through 2019.

Pierre Sparr Réserve Pinot Gris 2011, Ac Alsace
Alsace, France$10.75
Yummy, rich notes of peach, honey and honeysuckle, ripe pear. Off-dry, nice texture with a fairly long finish.
Delicious on it's own, right now. Lovely with seared scallops.
Gazela Vinho Verde
Vinho Verde, Portugal$11.95
Pale, watery straw. Lovely white peach and citrus aromas. Spritzy and refreshing. Great as a summer patio sipper. Crisp, refreshing, and nice low alcohol for a hot day.
