Maybe my age prevented me from detecting the sulphur but I agree with every thing else David said. Tried it last night against 2, $30 Chablis with and without food and all 4 tasters thought it was the best. Just ordered another case.

Les Vignerons Du Castelas Côtes Du Rhône 2007, Ac

The first glass is a pleasant fruity surprise. The second is getting a little boring. Leave half bottle over night with wine preserver and it deteriorates to candied fruit.

There is some disadvantage to your tasters if they only have a chance to sip the usual LCBO tasters pour.

Tharru Cannonau Di Sardegna 2006, Doc

Can't agree with John S. Alcohol is only 13% a far cry from most Rhones these days. This grenache is lovely, soft, generous and very smooth but with a reasonable finish. Far and above better than the Sardinian Grenache on the essentials list.

Dourosa 2007, Doc Douro

This is an amazing wine from the Douro. The Portuguese have really learned how to get the "rustic" out of their wines and replace it with soft tannins and lovely fruit. The price is unbelievable. Had it the day of the release with lamb shanks-couldn't have been better. I wouldn't keep it any more than a year. Enjoy it now. We are off to Portugal in a couple of weeks and I bet the price is higher there.
