Not everyone appreciates a California Pinot Noir. Some find it too candied and not as elusive and teasing as an old world Pinot Noir. I absolutely love the subtly sweet strawberry, cherry and plum flavours in this light red. Perfect with Salmon, versatile enough to charm lamb, duck and chicken.

Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay is a fantastic, tasty, and food friendly wine. This bargain valued wine has abundant aromas of peach, green apple, honeysuckle, and tropical fruits like pineapple and mango. Try it with Grilled Chicken, Salmon, Pork Tenderloin or Crab Cakes.

Frog's Leap Chardonnay 2010, Napa Valley

Frog’s Leap Chardonnay is a vibrant and gorgeous white wine. Lemon, spiced pear and apricot flavours mingle with mineral and flinty flavours making for a clean wine that is both food friendly and refreshing. This wine is also quite a conundrum as it is unique in that it can go where no other style of Chardonnay can go. Frog's Leap 2010 Chardonnay breaks all the rules when it comes to classic Chardonnay pairings, but then Frog's Leap Winery tends to be a winery that loves to bend sterotypes.

Ravenswood Zinfadel Vintner’s Blend is my go-to wine. It’s a wine I absolutely love as it’s delicious. What you’ll find with this mouth-watering wine are seductive aromas of black cherry, raspberry, blueberry, and a splinter of oak. It pairs with a wide variety of foods, and it’s a wine that is a crowd pleaser. As such, whenever I’m hosting a dinner party, or a BBQ in the backyard, I often uncork a bottle of Ravenswood Zinfandel.

Sutter Home White Zinfandel

Sutter Home White Zinfandel is an off-dry rose wine made with the Zinfandel grape. This wine has superb aromas and flavours of strawberries and melon. The body is well balanced in that it is initially sweet, becomes a little creamy, and then finishes dry, making the wine simultaneously decadent and refreshing. Great with Hamburgers, Spicy Indian Cuisine, or Spinach/Strawberry Salad.
