Hoffmann Simon Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Spätlese 2011, Prädikatswein
Mosel, Germany$16.25
Pleaseantly enjoy this ripe fruit aromatic Riesling with a Spicey Thai dish. This wine has a medium plus body with a mandarin, asian pear and pineapple flavour on the palate. Medium minus acidity has just enough to spark the tastebuds to enhance the flavours to lengthy finsih. Tasted November 2012
Katogi & Strofilia Xinomavro 2005, Ao Naoussa
Naoussa, Greece$15.75
I was pleasantly surprised when I was told what I was drinking. Could have fooled me if I was told it was Italian. At $18 this wine will be poured in the near future in my house :)
Molino Ausario Dolcetto D'alba 2009, Doc
Piedmont, Italy$12.70
Deep red almost black cor colour with violet rim. On the nose a medium intensity of red berry fruits. This Dolcetto hits you with a firm acididty and decent amount tannin which balances as raspberry fruits show themselves. Even with its wonderful medium to long finish, I believe this would have been better in a couple of years. Enjoyed me first Dolcetto.
Brouilly Chateau De Pierreux 2009
Beaujolais, France$18.95
Brilliant ruby core colour with a pinkish rim. On the nose light floral notes and a medium to low intensity of red fruit berries. Reminds me of Bazooka bubble gum. In the mouth this medium bodied wine brings to mind strawberries. This ready to drink is a perfect wine to introduce to a non-wine drinker.
