Anthonij Rupert Cape Of Good Hope Altima Sauvignon Blanc 2018, Wo Elandskloof, Western Cape
Western Cape, South Africa$19.95
This wine started out with intriguing if unusual aromas and flavours of citron peel, lime, and under-ripe yellow plum. It's unfortunate that a bitter nettle-like flavour began to dominate after it had been open for about half an hour and made the remainder of the bottle unpleasant.
Quinta De Pancas Selecção Do Enólogo 2010, Doc Lisboa
Portugal$18.95
OK, I'm actually offended by the ratings given by "da boyz". This wine is currently dominated by charcoal/bitter chocolate and I strongly doubt that it has enough fruit buried underneath it to survive cellaring. It otherwise has no obvious flaws.
Clarence Dillon Clarendelle Blanc 2019, Ac Bordeaux
Bordeaux, France$24.95
We must have had a bad bottle because we thought it was thin with nettle as the dominate flavour and not worth the price.
Bollig Lehnert Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Spätlese 2009, Prädikatswein
Mosel, Germany$21.95
David Lawrason's "slightly bacterial note" was overwhelming geranium scented bacterial contamination of our bottle. Thank God we have the receipt for a full refund. Yuck!!
