Domaine Roux Père & Fils Vieilles Vignes Volnay 2009, Ac
Burgundy, France$24.90
Opened April 2011.
Restrained bouquet of pencil shavings and herbacous greens. Not what I expect from Pinot Noir. Palate carries same flavours and the green fruit characters, which I associate with under ripe grapes, is dominate.
On a positive note it does have a long palate.
Domaine De Montorge Montagny 1er Cru 2009, Ac
Burgundy, France$21.95
I have asked to recommend some wines for a home wedding dinner. I tried this as a possibility,
On opening some burnt match smells, so sulphur. Decanted immediately. The usual stone fruit aromas of Chardonnay and some chalkiness. Palate is medium weight, a little too full (sugar ?) and finshes at back of mouth, not a long palate.Overall a nice drink.
