Vinovalie Capitolium 2007, Ac Fronton
Southwest, France$12.40
I can't put it any better than the Vintages Panel's own description -- dry, well balanced. with a nice finish. Good value.
Duboeuf Gamay Nouveau 2011, Burgundy
Burgundy, France$6.60
Hard to believe that any wine at the lcbo costing $7.65 could taste this pleasant. A remarkable value. The other reviewers have it dead on. A votre Sante.
Tsantali Reserve Rapsani 2007, Pdo Thessalia
Greece$18.95
This is one of those interesting and puzzling wines that we didn't upon first taste think too highly of. But it got better and better with each sip. One of the wonderful things about wine. If I were going to recommend a Greek Red, it would be Papaioannou Single Vineyard Agiorgitiko 2007.
Champy Signature Pinot Noir Bourgogne 2009, Ac
Burgundy, France$23.95
There was enugh sourness and acidity on the finish to make this a little disappointing.
During one of the online tasting competitions, I seem to remember one of the critics asking if you can get a really good pinot noir for under $25. I'm beginning to wonder the same thing.
Allegrini Corte Giara Ripasso Valpolicella Doc 2010
Veneto, Italy$17.00
Still a very good everyday go to wine for Italian dishes but not as enjoyable as the 2009 vintage
