Paul Hobbs is a veteran Sonoma winemaker and rover, making wines in Argentina, and most recently consulting to Stratus in Niagara. This a yellow-gold, full throttle, maturing chardonnay with layers of butterscotch, candied almonds, peach pie and cream corn. I suspect long barrel ageing and lees stirring for maximum impact. It's full bodied, creamy, rich and warm with firm acidity. Excellent to outstanding length. A whopper, to drink now or within the next two years. Tasted October 2010.
