Enticing bouquet of green apple and peach in this lovely rosé from Provence, with bright acidity and medium body, with additional grapefruit pit to the palate but packs more heat it seems than declared 13.5% alc, shortening its finish.

Loads of dark fruit, hint of smoke and oak. Full-bodied and powerful but smooth. 14.5% alcohol abv but hard to notice. easy to love. Please grill that steak!

13th Street June's Vineyard Riesling 2015, VQA Creek Shores, Niagara Peninsula

Medium intensity on the nose with peaches and nectarines, and lime/lemon and mineral notes. On the palate, these are similarly revealed in the same order over medium-long finish. Crisp acidity belies a touch of sweetness but quite well-balanced.

From Lodi in north central Cali. Deep ruby in color, lots of raspberries and blueberries but also vanilla and hints of cedar as the ferments were in both french and american oak barriques. Full bodied, 14.5% alcohol yet smooth, long finish. Well-balanced

Bright cherries and red plums with a hint of black pepper that eases after ten to fifteen minutes, revealing more dark fruit. Med-hi alcool, med tannins, body and finish to this well-made GSM & Tempranillo blend. Pan-fried Chicken & pasta w a light tomato sauce made for perfect dinner.

Joel Gott Merlot 2014, California

Haven't had merlot on its own for a while. Beautiful dark purple hue on this, belies the dark fruit. Black cherries, smoke, molasses on the nose. Then add blueberries, blackberries, creaminess on the palate. Medium body, tannin, and acidity, medium to long finish. Nicely balanced. Have to check out Joel's other creations.

Big Head Red 2013

2015 Big Head Red from NOTL ($20 from the winery), mostly from Cab Franc berries that were dried in old tobacco kilns to intensify the fruit (appassimento method typical for italian ripassos and amarones). Intense rub-garnet in color with a fruit forward flavor --- dark cherry, black plums with hints of oak. Medium tannins, dry, and med-long finish. Beauty. Great with burgers, smoked cheeses or even on its own.

'12 Principium 60/40 Merlot & Touriga. Lots of black fruit, stewed plum & smoke, leather on the nose and palate. Medium acidity, tannins and finish. Well balanced. 13.5% alcohol goes by almost unnoticed.
