Tawse Growers Blend Cabernet Franc 2019, VQA Niagara Peninsula

Lean, black licorice/herb driven Cabernet Franc from Tawse with a touch of oak. Not much fruit on the nose which is disappointing. Also doesn't have that violet aroma I get vintage after vintage. A year or two in the bottle perhaps.

It's a different story on the palate. Lean, acidic, true to its varietal character. Great drinkability.

Sundried tomatoes, dried roses and tar. there's something light and ripe about this Barolo in an odd way. Also offers you that old-world feel that's hard to put on words. Consume young, as it is fully open

Francois Xavier Nicolas Père & Fils Saint Maurice Côtes Du Rhône Villages 2019, A.P.

Nose is dominated by ripe red fruits. Aromas are inviting and pleasing. Tannins are dusty and disappearing at this point of their life although acidity still holds up for what it is. There's some sweetness here so serve chilled perhaps as a first wine at the barbecue. Won't hold long.
