Domaine Puig Parahy Georges 2007, Ac Côtes De Roussillon

Strong fruit (raspberry) balanced by spiciness, sandalwood, and dried herbs. Would have guessed it had seen some oak. Dry, medium tannins, good palate following the nose, good finish. Great value.

Librandi Duca San Felice Riserva Rosso 2007, Doc Ciró

Translucent cherry red. Maraschino cherry, hints of herbs and spices, slightly candied. Soft palate verging on off-dry. Real issue precluding strong recommendation here is the more than a hint of candiedness.

Domaine Du Chardonnay Chablis 2012, Ac

Apple, lemon, biscuit with a bit of limestone. Not a lot of sense of terroir, but very good for the price.

Terre Di Bruca Syrano 2016

Atypical for Syrah, but delicious. Black currant, pepper, tea and wine gums on the nose, followed by a lively dry but juicy palate.

Lykos Kratistos Agiorgitiko 2005, Nemea

Like a good Aglianico -- noticeable oak, but nicely in balance with black fruits, spices, charcuterie. Generous complex nose with good follow-through on the palate. Great value.

Fonterutoli Chianti Classico 2011

Youthful juicy chianti, better on the palate than the nose. Red fruits, hint of spice and sandalwood. Needs food.

Tiefenbrunner Pinot Grigio 2009, Doc Südtirol Alto Adige

Generous ripe pear nose with hint of wet stone and mineral. Above average body in good balance with good length. Richer than 2008. Good value.

Kew Vineyards Pinot Noir 2012, Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula

Very characteristic nose, but palate doesn't really follow through.
